• What went well at the event?

The Event was a very long time due, for all Indic Wikisource Communumities. So arrangeing the same in itself was "What went Well". Everything was very well organized. The Stay was comfortable, flood was good.

The Event Covered vital topics pertaining to Wikisource and many unknown practices follwed by various communities were made known. Many new tools were made aware of.

The Best part was commencement of OCR button for Indic Communities. Kudos to the team who made it possible.

The Another good part was communication and discussion on the need of Indic Wikisoruce Communities and Further discussions commencing on Chat Group.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

The Agenda of the meeting could have been well defined. So that the person who guided could have come with live examples.

2. For future A detailed session is needed on Formatting with HTML commands.

I attended the event on Sunday only. So I will given the answer according to my one day experience.

1. What went well at the event?

According to me, Future Program planning for Wikisource Group Discussion was gone very well. because we got various idea from different different community people. Thanks to Jayantanth Da who were my mate in group.

1. Your planned future activities?

Well we have created the future plan Indic-TechCom/Requests/IWCC2018. we will try to resolve it before July 2019. We have already started work on some project (phab:T208711#4780257). • What went well at the event?

Almost everything. It was my first time in a national level wikimedia meet and the I felt totally comfortable. The organizers were very welcoming, all ready to help at anything. I made some new friends. The best part was the interaction among various communities sharing their ideas and experiences. The venue and awesome food are worth mentioning too.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

I felt the 'consultation' deviated from its original agenda on the first day threatening to become a training program. Resource and community building methods should have been elaborated and discussed in detail. The technical stuff can be put in videos for easy reference later.

• What did you learn in the workshop?

1. Tools and techniques to add contents to commons and wikisource.
2. Various editing and formatting tools.
3. The fact that separate authorization is required to edit mediawiki namespace now!
4. Some wonderful ideas to build and re-energize the community.

• What learning did you share with others?

1. My experiences with Assamese wikimedia projects.
2. Helped one or two persons with transclusion.

• Your planned future activities?

I'll be sharing the tools and techniques I learnt with our community members. we'll plan a exclusive Assamese wikisource meet cum workshop in near future.

Guntupalli Rameswaram

• What went well at the event?

This is first national event I am participating, and the reception was good with known persons like Shri Tito, who has taken every care for the participants to be comfortable. I have great pleasure in meeting young minds who are contributing to their native languages in Wikisource. As two of the members are pure vegetarians, the organizers have taken special care by giving us dry fruits and fruits, thanks to Shri Ajoy and Shri Tito and Ananth.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

There were long discussions which are more of technical aspects of DTP,handling of paintings books etc. which could have been made less

• What did you learn in the workshop?

There is a lot of technology at work using opensource by a team of youngsters working for Indic Wikisource. Very glad I met these young minds like Jayantnath, Bodhisattwa,Jayaprakash etc. I am glad to install Indic OCR Button, and my experience in Telugu is extremely good. Glad that I need not have to upload to Google Drive and copy and paste which is a time consuming process. I thank the bright tech team for making it possible.The interaction with various indic communities was excellent source of inspiration even for a 65 years old person like me. The statistics shown that Telugu is one of the top 10 languages that are contributing to Wikisource, and it is matter of satisfaction that I am also part of that to happen.

• What learning did you share with others?

I wrote in my facebook page in Telugu asking my friends to join and contribute.

• Your planned future activities?

I have added 2 more Telugu Classics to Wikisource and am editing them on a regular basis. We plan to bring more e-books in Telugu in Wikisource, by bringing in new editors.

• What went well at the event?

First a fall thank you to CIS-A2K for participating me in this Event.This was my first Wikisource Training program.I learned more things in this event. I learned Advance tools of Wikisource by Jay-Prakash. In this event I really liked Ananad sir session about Software.I understood different software.and I use this in my work also in for Wikisource.and also I liked adding Subtitles.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

All event was very good from my site because I learned more things for Wikisource.

• What did you learn in the workshop?

I learned in this event google OCR,Some Advance tools,Different Software,Adding Subtitles.

• What learning did you share with others?

All things that I was learned in this event.I'll be sharing the tools and techniques.

• Your planned future activities?

I will taking different Workshop School Colleges.improving Wikisource.

Shubha

It was a great experience to mingle with different language people who are working towards the same goal. Experienced people have taught various techniques to enhance our work speed. Few new visions presented by CIS coordinators have really changed my approach towards wikisource. Well organized event.

This was the core group of Indic wikisource. So in my opinion we would have spent more time on exploring different dimensions of Indic wikisource and how we can achieve a lot by working together. I think we must organize different events to focus on ideology and technical aspects separately.

It was over whelming to mingle with the group who are so open and happy to share their knowledge with others. I always thought there must be more number of active editors in other language where we see a lot of quality work. But the fact is that quantity is not the deciding factor but the quality of the editors. This has made me think and organize our work more effectively in our small community.

We have already fixed the dates for wikisource workshop for our active members here. On January 1st weekend we are having Samskrit conference in Bengaluru. There we are organizing wikisource exhibition-play-edit-a-thon. We are teaching Mount carmel college students to edit on Samskrit wikisource. We are planning to connect with some more colleges and also with interested people from different walks of life.

• What went well at the event?

Everything was well organized. Stay was comfortable and food was good. Thanks to the CIS, especially to Tito and Jayantanath for organising the Wikisource workshop, which was long due. Guidebook for Wikisource editors was a good development. Thanks to the team for bringing it out. All sessions were informative.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

Venue did not have wi-fi. Some sessions lasted for long time, which could have done short

• What did you learn in the workshop?

Tools for uploading books on commons Editing, formatting and transclusion etc.

• What learning did you share with others?

Shared about transclusion and formatting on group chat and will plan a workshop for the community to discuss in length

• Your planned future activities?

Proofread and validate currently available books on Odia Wikisource

Hrishikes

• What went well at the event?

The event went very well. This was my first national level offline participation, and I liked it very much. Especially the chance to interact with other language colleagues. Stay was comfortable, food was excellent.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

Agenda was not very clear. Changes were occurring even after the start of the conference.

• What did you learn in the workshop?

Learned how other communities are handling various aspects of wikisource work. The high point was the introduction of the Google Drive ocr tool.

• What learning did you share with others?

Talked about various offline editing methods, download/upload tools etc.

• Your planned future activities?

• What went well at the event?

The status analysis of all language projects provided many insights. Good networking process started in this event. It was beneficial to know different approaches and strengths of the communities. I got inspiration from vast work done by Hrishikesh. The tech sessions and roadmap session went well. The group activity was also fruitful.

• What did not go well during the event, and how it could be improved?

Time spent on tools like cropping, OCR could have been reduced. I think, the transclusion and finishing works for any book on Wikisource were the most wanted inputs for many participants. What are the ways to achieve overall impact of Wikisource for readers could have been discussed at length. The need analysis of the society should be done for any project.

• What did you learn in the workshop?

I learnt the proper/ideal format of the book presented on Wikisource. The integrated efforts by Bengali community are worth emulating. The systematic approach of Hrishikesh inspired me. I want to work with him & learn more intensively from him. The wider discussions in roadmap session were also

• What learning did you share with others?

I shared the learnings from partnerships building process – The approach towards the organisations having cumulative knowledge on their focus work areas, convincing authors with social background, involvement of govt. departments, tapping the online repositories by thematic organisations etc.

To organize proofreading workshops ; To complete 5 books with all aspects ; To build copyright free authors database on Wiki.
