Agenda
editTopic of Presentation and Discussion: "Participation of Female Editors on Wikipedia and its Sister Projects"
Misogyny (amongst other things) on the internet means women aren't making a contribution to the world's 7th largest website. Which in turn means women's interest subjects aren't being covered in detail or at all. Which in turn means that women are culturally under represented in areas where Wikipedia is a prolific source of education.
Which in turn means you should come see our female CEO speak about how you can help encourage more women to represent themselves and their interests on Wikipedia
Entry was free and the program was as follows:
6.15 - Meet in the lecture theatre
6.25 - The lecture starts (45 minutes)
7.15 - The question / answer session on Wikipedia begins (following on from the lecture - also 45 minutes)
8pm - post-lecture drinks in the union
