This proposal has been approved.
The Board of Trustees and language committee have deemed that there is sufficient grounds and community to create the new language project.

A committee member provided the following comment:

  • The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
  • The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
  • The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:

Settings
Project name ဝီကီရင်းမြစ် "Wikisource" in your language
Project namespace ဝီကီရင်းမြစ် usually the same as the project name
Project talk namespace ဝီကီရင်းမြစ်_ဆွေးနွေးချက် "Wikisource talk" (the discussion namespace of the project namespace)
Enable uploads no Default is "no". Preferably, files should be uploaded to Commons.
If you want, you can enable local file uploading, either by any user ("yes") or by administrators only ("admin").
Notes: (1) This setting can be changed afterwards. The setting can only be "yes" or "admin" at approval if the test creates an Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) first. (2) Files on Commons can be used on all Wikis. (3) Uploading fair-use images is not allowed on Commons (more info). (4) Localisation to your language may be insufficient on Commons.
Optional settings
Project logo File:Wikisource-logo-my.svg This needs to be an SVG image (instructions for logo creation).
Default project timezone Asia/Yangon "Continent/City", e.g. "Europe/Brussels" or "America/Mexico City" (see list of valid timezones)
Additional namespaces "စာရေးသူ" (Author), "စာရေးသူ ဆွေးနွေးချက်" (Author talk), "စာမျက်နှာ" (Page), "စာမျက်နှာ ဆွေးနွေးချက်" (Page talk), "အညွှန်း" (Index), "အညွှန်း ဆွေးနွေးချက်" (Index talk), "မုခ်ဝ" (Portal), "မုခ်ဝ ဆွေးနွေးချက်" (Portal talk), "ဘာသာပြန်" (Translation), "ဘာသာပြန် ဆွေးနွေးချက်" (Translation talk) For example, a Wikisource would need "Page", "Page talk", "Index", "Index talk", "Author", "Author talk".
Additional settings Anything else that should be set
Once settings are finalized, a committee member will submit a Phabricator task requesting creation of the wiki. (This will include everything automatically, except the additional namespaces/settings.) After the task is created, it should be linked to in a comment under "final decision" above.

User:Ninjastrikers: I am happy to report that the pages have finally been imported. The list of pages exported and imported is at oldwikisource:User:MF-Warburg#pages_exported_to_my.wikisource (if you look closely at the import log, summary "59/86" is missing, but the pages wrongly got the summary 58/86). I also imported some templates from www.wikisource, but more might be needed. Please let me know if you want anything else imported. The imported main page is still at s:my:Main Page/မြန်မာဘာသာ and needs sorting out. --MF-W 18:09, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MF-Warburg: Please hold the deletion of pages from oldwikisource. Some of the pages from "Page:" namespace are still missing as they are not categorized in oldwikisource:Category:မြန်မာဘာသာ.
