This is a periodic report summarising the activity and caseload of the Ombuds Commission for the period from 25 January to 5 May 2021.
- The Commission entered this reporting period with 18 matters unresolved.
- 13 new matters were raised with the Ombuds Commission during the period.
- The Commission passed a resolution upon 13 matters during the period.
- 4 complaints were immediately closed as the facts described were clearly outside the Ombuds Commission's scope or for other appropriate reasons.
- At the period end there were 14 open matters:
- 10 open matters involve the use of the CheckUser tool;
- No open matters involve the use of the Oversight tool;
- 4 open matters concern policies in general.
Membership edit
The commission was renewed at the beginning of this period, 8 new members were added, while 4 members of the previous commission remained in office. Now there are 10 effective members and 2 advisors. The commission made some changes to its internal policies and introduced the role of "Chair".

Resolutions issued edit
During the period, one or more reports were made to the Wikimedia Foundation by the Commissioners in the meaning of the terms of reference.
During this period some recommendations were sent to some CheckUsers and Stewards and 2 public actions were taken by WMF on recommendation by the OC.
The Commission does not publish any other details of its resolutions.
