Niboe
Who we are
Niboe, or Nibö, is a collective and platform for the communication of knowledge from diversity. At Nibö, we speak Spanish, Portuguese and Portuñol. We especially promote the dissemination of content that contributes constructively to resolving the current environmental and sociopolitical crisis.
The meaning of the term nĩbö is related to the action of communicating and comes from the language Pumé-mae. The Pumé people live in the south of the Apure state, in Venezuela.
Our strategy
The knowledge published and curated in Nibö is the result of a process of critical and transdisciplinary research and reflection. We decided to organize ourselves as part of the Wikimedia movement under the following common principles:
- Apoyamos la ciencia y la tecnología libres y abiertas, por eso trabajamos activamente en incorporar estos conocimientos a los distintos proyectos Wikimedia.
- Abogamos por cambios sociales - estructurales y culturales - que nos permitan alcanzar la equidad del conocimiento y la justicia epistémica.
- Creemos en procesos de producción de conocimiento radicalmente colaborativos, abiertos, y multilingües de agencia on y offline, que empoderen comunidades históricamente subrepresentadas.
- Nos sumamos al esfuerzo colaborativo de la Estrategia del Movimiento Wikimedia de imaginar y construir el futuro del ecosistema del conocimiento libre en la Internet.
