Project description | I would like to have a database wiki about minerals, where all the properties of the mineral and everything else is listed. The Earth is huge, and there are lots of minerals. There are thousands of them. And I want to write about every single property of each mineral in the article. Because everything is important.

More information
editAre there minerals in Asia? Perhaps in Africa? Or in Europe? Of course there are! Illustrated with pictures. Certainly, English will be the main language, but these articles will be translated into many languages.
Discussion
edit- Question: Is the kind of information you're wanting to categorise best placed on wikidata? For such a vast amount of information, I feel you'd want a database format for it. Supertrinko (talk) 01:53, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Supertrinko I don't know anything about Wikidata. But the Wikispecies is also a database, I think, isn't it? My wiki will have images and interesting facts about minerals. Lois131 (talk) 12:22, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose This can easily be made a part of Wikimuseum.
- Comment You can start a new book at Wikibooks: or a new project at Wikispore:. Vis M (talk) 15:28, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose This already exists, it's Mindat.org. It's a user-editable non-commercial mineralogy database, and the most popular by far. ActuallyNeverHappened02 (talk) 00:06, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- Support, It's like Wikimolecule, it can turn out to be a completely viable project. Τάρας στον Παρνασσό (talk) 10:36, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose If you want a place to store factual data about minerals, you have Wikidata, and from there, show the data in a thousand ways. If you want a place to show that data, I think the best place is Wikibooks, you don't have to follow the encyclopedic style of Wikipedia. --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 10:13, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
