Programme

edit

The meet ups are not formal discussions, so please add anything you might be interested in: presented that you would like to share:

IPCC report

edit

Petermr (talk · contribs) led a discussion on "Transposing the IPCC Climate report to Wikibase (and maybe Wikidata)" [1]. Details and further discussion have been moved to wikidata:Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Climate_Change/transposing_IPCC_report.

Wikidata photowalk

edit

The proposed photowalk to photograph missing images for Wikidata (cmglee suggested a particular cluster on King's Parade) was cancelled due to rain.

Suffolk databases

edit

Leutha (talk · contribs) led a discussion on "bringing together existing databases with examples taken from Suffolk." We discussed adding historical maps and geodata to Wikidata and OpenStreetMap. Edward (talk · contribs) explained the relationship between Wikimedia and OpenStreetMap foundations and recommended http://openhistoricalmap.org. The tool that cmglee said could overlay rectified historical maps on OpenStreetMap is https://warper.wmflabs.org.

Live stream with Oxford Meetup

edit

Did not happen due to lack of projector and poor Internet access. Previous comment:

- How would this work? I'm also enthusiastic about including remote collaborators (mine are in NL, DE and IN). Presumably we have to have a central Zoom instance and join on local laptops (would there be a communal screen?) Petermr (talk) 11:14, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies

edit

I didn't come as it's a long drive from London and I have some other commitments. So, I appreciate the notes above about what happened. The focus on getting specific things done is good and encourages me to come when I've more time. Andrew D. (talk) 10:07, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
