Programs vs Projects

A Program is an organized event or series of events that leads to contributions to Wikimedia Projects. Programs sometimes span more than one project and/or more than one namespace.

Example: Participants in an Edit-a-Thon may edit both the Hindi and Urdu Wikipedias, and participants may be scored based on image and article contributions. This would involve three projects and two namespaces: edits to the two language Wikipedias would make changes within the Article namespace while photo uploads in Commons would make changes to the File namespace.
