Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Wikimedistas de Colombia/Wikivacaciones 2018/Report

Report accepted edit

Hi, Remux, thank you for submitting this final report and your expense documentation. I have reviewed and accepted both. Congratulations, this grant is now complete! Here are some questions and comments for reflection:

  • Thank you for organizing this project again for another year, and congratulations on achieving many of your goals!
  • Getting the number of participants you hope for is often difficult but it's wonderful to see that you're having people return from previous years. That is a difficult thing to achieve and it shows that you do a good job of engaging the people who participate.
  • In addition to extending the contest dates in the future, are there other things you do that you think might increase the number of participants?
  • While we do not allow grantees to give cash prizes, have you considered another form of gift card or voucher to avoid Amazon's high exchange rates?

Many thanks for all your hard work on this project, and for sharing what you learned with WMF and the community. We welcome any additional information you would like to shre!

Right now we're running WLE. For this time we're doing an experiment giving gift cards of a local digital store. With this store we can pay directly in colombian pesos and in that way avoid exchange rates. The whole grant requested for WLE is in colombian pesos. If successful, we could continue using this digital store. Anyway, it is hard to find a better place than Amazon, where is a lot of options to choose what to buy. I (and not WMCO) was thinking on an option, I do not know if it is possible to do, but if WMF could buy directly the gift cards would be a solution. --Sahaquiel9102 (talk) 00:14, 7 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
