Latest comment: 2 years ago by DSaroyan (WMF) in topic Request for deadline extension

Hello Jadnapac, thank you for submitting this Rapid Grant proposal. We are happy to see the community in Tanzania working on documentation of the African UNESCO World Heritage. We have reviewed your proposal and have the following follow up question:

Hi RSharma (WMF), thank you for your comments and question. I would like to respond to them all as followsː--Jadnapac (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  1. In the grant application you have mentioned that you would have experienced editors supporting you throughout the project. Could you please add their usernames to the request page?
I have already mentioned the usernames of atleast 5 active facilitators 2 global facilitators/coordinators (user:Yamen from Tunisia) and (User:Nassima Chahboun from Morocco) and 3 local faciliatators (userːJadnapac, UserːCzeus25_Masele and UserːBelindamakoye).--Jadnapac (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  2. Since the project proposal mentions adding or improving Wikidata items, can you add the metrics for Wikidata Items/Labels in the impact section?
As I explained a bit on the proposal, Wikidata is one of the projects are yet to be much familiar amongst our members, few of them understand about it, but we expect after the training, something will be added to what the members already knows. This makes some challenge on approximating the exact results but so far we are anticipating to have atleast 100 wikidata items added, improved and or edited. --Jadnapac (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  3. We would like to see more community participation in the proposal. Can you add community notification link for the proposal or any on-wiki link for this project where they can learn about this project?
I have already updated our meta page to give an information about the project Here, and some of our members already know about the project, and we will let them all know through our channels]--Jadnapac (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  4. Per the Rapid Grant guidelines, cash prizes for contest or other competition winners are not permitted. Instead, Wikimedia merchandize, certificates, gift coupons, books, and other tokens can be awarded to recognize achievements for winners, jury for their contributions. Please update the budget in the Resources section to reflect the fact that you do not intend to offer cash prize.
Thanks for reminding me on this, I am totally aware and i have rectified it accordingly.--Jadnapac (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  5. Can you update the Resources section with clear bullets. Can you clarify more about the budget for "Internet". Does “Branding” budget item cover the expenses of the graphic designer to create the banner? Can you explain bit more about the "Communications" expenses?
Thank you again for this, I have done the necessary.--Jadnapac (talk) 10:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request for deadline extension edit

Hi DSaroyan (WMF)
I am writing to inform you that upon some discussions with the global coordinators for Told Cities Project (Nassima & Yamen), we have agreed to extend the deadline for this project (locally) from the former deadline (31st March 2021) to 15th April 2021. This is due to some cross cutting issues in our country (including the death of our presdident, Covid-19 issues, Easter holiday preparations and some discussions with swwiki admins about the creation of missing categories in swwiki for some of the articles being created in these project). All that affected in some way the initial timeline and schedules we had, hence we thought extending a bit the deadline will help to have some room to wrap up the project. I am kindly asking for your approval to extend this project as explained above. Kind regards, Jadnapac (talk) 20:26, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jadnapac, thanks for posting this request. It is formally approved; the new grant end date is 15 April 2021, with the reporting due on 15 May 2021. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:43, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
