Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Wiki Love Monuments Iraq 2018
Hello Sarmad Yaseen thank you for submitting your request for WLM Iraq 2018. I have a couple of questions and one challenge before we can move forward with processing your grant proposal.
- Can you please add number of participants and photos you plan to upload? I don't see any numbers next to those statements under impact.
- You have listed prizes for the contest in the form of cash. We no longer allow cash prizes. Would it be possible to change those into vouchers, gift cards or gift certificates or other kinds of material prizes?
Thank you WJifar (WMF), below the answers:

I don't exactly how many person will participate, but from last year experience I think they will be around 10 person and 100 photos.

Any valuable material prizes will be expensive, also we cannot print official certification here because needs to register our user group officially in the NOG, which should be done by a lawyer. Also we will face a problem for sending the materiel prizes to the winners, but for the cash; last year we sent it via western union. Let me know if you have any other query, BR Sarmad Yaseen (talk)
Our challenge
editI would like to bring to your attention that your interim report for Initialization project for Iraq User Group was not submitted and you have not responded to our grant admin's requests to do so. This has put your second disbursement for that grant on hold. Consequently, we will also not be able to disburse any further movement funds until that report is submitted.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 21:00, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Hello, All report sent. Sarmad Yaseen (talk)
- @WJifar (WMF): just to make sure you noticed the above. Effeietsanders (talk) 00:25, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
No cash prizes
editHello Sarmad Yaseen, thank you for answering my questions. I have updated your proposal with the number of participants and photos. Unfortunately, the cash prizes are not going to be possible even though last year you were able to use Western Union. Our finance and legal team have advised that we no longer allow cash prizes because we're unable to verify the identity of the participants receiving the funds. Would it be possible for you to consider buying cameras or such materials at a higher price that you can buy and have delivered at your winners' addresses? Since your grant is only at 700 USD you have some budget flexibility to consider the materials and adjust the budget accordingly. Please let me know if this would be workable for you. I'm sorry I don't have better news. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 21:23, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
Hello WJifar (WMF), I've updated the budget part of the grant to vouchers, we will give them vouchers to be used in a electronic shop or an electronic device worth the prize amount in Iraq. Will that be okay? If yes I would urge you to change the status of the grant to accepted ASAP in order to catch the official competition. I further modification is required please let me know so I can fix it right away.Ravan (talk) 11:34, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
