Requests edit

Salam @Reda Kerbouche and Bachounda:, thank you for trying to enhance the quality of the Arabic Wikipedia MOOC. The project is a real success. And I'd like to support it, the budget seems realistic. My main concern is not having the project fully integrated with Arabic Wikipedia. For that, I have some requests for this second version of the MOOC.

  • Open immediately MOOC enrolment and keep it this way. Now, if we try to sign up, the website tells us enrollment is closed. We can't offer the MOOC to new editors if it stays closed for an unknown period. Keep in mind that the MOOC doesn't offer any university credits. There is no need to restrict its use.
  • Is it possible to upload all existing videos on Commons including courses? What is existing now, is not useful for us to reuse it within Arabic Wikipedia help pages.
  • I enrolled in the first version of the MOOC. Questions need to be more practical. For example, screenshots of real situations must be heavily used when talking about Neutral Point of View (Question may be: From those 4 screenshots, which lead paragraph seems respecting more the NPOV), how to sign a message, etc. --Helmoony (talk) 23:42, 23 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi, @Helmoony:, Thank you for your propositions. We will take them into account for the second MOOC.--Reda Kerbouche (talk) 06:06, 28 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Comments from WMF edit

Hello @Reda Kerbouche and Bachounda: thank you for your request and patience. I apologize for the delay in response. I have a few questions before moving forward with your grant request.

  1. You mention that you're planning to have 2000 participants in the MOOC. I understand that you'll be able to track that from people signing up to the MOOC but how will you be tracking contributions?
  2. How will you know what articles have been created and improved from the MOOC?
  3. In your current MOOC I understand that you have 10000 registrants from the google doc you attached. How many people have completed the MOOC?

Please let me know the answers and I will follow up with next steps. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 16:37, 8 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

@WJifar (WMF): Hi, thanks for these questions. We too are late and have to advance the date of the release of the MOOC for 3 months.
  • 1 and 2 - at the end of the MOOC, there is a final exam to have his certificate. Creation of a new article and download new photos is the way we choose to follow the contributions of the users. and we will check manually. To find out what new articles are created, we will make a table and a form for the contributors to put their work and as we can define the new articles created
  • 3- About 15%.--Reda Kerbouche (talk) 12:01, 10 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
