Grants talk:Project/Rapid/UG LK/Photo equipment/Report

Hello, Rehman! Thank you for submitting this report. We're glad to hear that the photowalk was a success, and has encouraged you to plan further offline projects for the Sri Lankan community. Can you share a link or Commons category with these photos? We'd love to take a look! Have you also been able to follow-up on the approximate articles that have used these photos since, or considered further activities around creating or improving articles related to these photos? I would be interested to see how these images are used and their impact on other Wikimedia projects over time, especially if you are able to keep track of their usage.

As for the remaining funds from this project, does your bank account require a minimum amount to remain open? We typically recommend grantees to reallocate these funds towards future (Rapid) grants submissions or towards mission-aligned activities with approval by a program officer. We'll be happy to close out this grant with more information about this. Thanks in advance for your answers! Best, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 01:07, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Morgan! Good day to you. Photos from photowalk Day-1 can be found at here, and Day-2 here. The first day turned out to be quite cloudy, and thus the photos did not turn out so great. But Day-2 turned out to be way better than expected. There is still a lot of work to do, including improving this article and creating/expanding at least the top 10 tallest structures photographed, while updating the photos on other language sites as well. I will definitely create a table or chart to depict the usages of these files once the articles are updated.
With regards to the funds, yes, the bank requires a minimum balance of at least LKR 1,000 (about USD 7). Of course, if the funds needs to be returned, I am completely fine with covering the minimum balance by myself, and returning the funds. Looking forward to your reply :) Kind regards, Rehman 13:24, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for sharing these links, Rehman! The Lotus Tower looks like an intriguing structure that it would be interesting to see how it looks once completed! As for the remaining amount, you may keep this amount to retain a minimum balance for your user group's bank account. If you could direct us to a link or documentation from your bank that explains this practice, we'd like to refer to it for our records. We're happy to accept this report--thanks again for your engagement, and keep us updated on those articles when you can! Best wishes, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 18:16, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Morgan. Thank you! Some of the account features can be found in the PDF linked on the bank's website, including minimum balance. Kind regards, Rehman 22:39, 21 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
