Comments from WMF edit

Hello, Mehman97; thank you again for your submission. We have the following comments and questions:

  1. We notice a big difference in the prizes between WLE 2017-18 and the proposed prizes for WLE 2019. The first prize has gone from 400 GEL to 500 GEL and now to 800+GEL. 2nd place has gone from 300 GEL to 550, and 3rd place has gone from 200 to 275. Can you please explain the rationale behind these changes? The idea is to incentivize good submissions and, to increase the prizes in such way, we need a good explanation and evidence that increasing the prizes in such way will lead to much better outcomes. Otherwise, please reduce the prize amounts.
  1. Given that you have stickers+souvenirs, images for the top 10, and calendars, we think that the shirts are redundant and we would like for them to be removed from the budget.

Hi Mariel, thanks for feedback. So, I will try to briefly answer your questions.
  1. The price of prizes has changed because: in 2016-2017, we gave out money on hand and the exchange rate gave us succession. Since 2018, we have been issuing vouchers for online stores, last year we issued vouchers in Georgian currency for a Georgian online store, but unfortunately we were then faced with the difficulty of issuing vouchers (vouchers had to be bought directly in the store, it was not possible to go online) and after that, we will issue Amazon voucher, an American online store, which is much easier. Therefore, we changed the currency to the USD (it gives us an advantage, that we don’t have to convert the currency), and decided that such prices for vouchers are optimal and look more attractive.
  1. If you think, that branded T-shirts is superfluous compared to other gifts, then you can remove it from the budget, we have no complaints.
If you have questions, we are happy to answer them. Kindly, --Mehman 97 15:28, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request for extend edit

Hello @WJifar (WMF):! Unfortunately, due to several details, we didn't complete the process on this grant, which is why we don't have time to provide the report before July 31, so I have a request, please give us a delay of 15 days and let the deadline be 15 August. Thanks. Kindly, --Mehman 97 19:17, 29 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
