Hello RachelWex and thank you for submitting your grant request. It is pretty straightforward and we are happy to see such initiatives, especially with this slightly new angle of "social activism". Before I approve your request, can you just give me a few links to the editathons you have organized before, link to your user pages if you're ok with this, and maybe try to find a few people to endorse your project? :D Thanks! I, Ben Bourgoin, fully support this initiative. It can be very difficult to organize people who are seperated by physical distance, and thus event is just the thing to help with that problem. I have worked with Wex in a class setting before and have faith that she will do her best to make it an awesome event!

Follow-up on your request edit

Hello RachelWex! Thank you for updating the proposal with the requested relevant links and endorsements. Before we finalize our decision, we recommend taking out the swag item from your budget and requesting it separately through this page. Once you've updated that, Delphine (WMF) or another program officer will take another look, and we'll be able to move forward. Thanks again for your engagement in this process so far! Hi Morgan Jue (WMF), thank you for your post. I am a little confused. When you say "taking out the swag item from your budget", do you mean deduct it from my budget on the grant and apply for it on the separate form, or replace my original swag request with something from the page that you showed me? I look forward to your response. RachelWex

Hi RachelWex! Yes, I had meant to suggest that you should deduct the amount dedicated for swag in the proposal and request it through the above link instead:). Sorry for the confusion! Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 19:09, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Morgan Jue (WMF)--my edit-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday April 15th, and the website says that I have to allow for a month for the items to arrive. What can I do about this? RachelWex (talk)
