Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Promotion of Tajik Wikipedia
Comments from WMF
editHello, Atokhon; thank you for submitting this grant request. I see that your user account does not show experience on different Wikimedia projects, which is a requirement to be eligible for funding like you request. If you are still interested in undertaking this project, please have other Tajik Wikimedians endorse this project and chime in in this discussion expressing their commitment as collaborators in this project.
The last few months we have had a backlog in application reviews, as well as changes in funding guidelines and the grants team at WMF. I wanted to let you know that the coming month, September, WMF will be focusing resources on awareness grants like this one and yours will be the first one to be reviewed as you applied so early. Please ping WJifar (WMF) in September to ask for an update if you don't hear from her first, and please address my request to show support from other Tajik Wikimedians; otherwise, WMF won't have enough grounds to approve your request. Best regards, MMontes (WMF) (talk) 15:13, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
Dear Mariel! Thanks for your comments. I will contact the editors of the Tajik Wikipedia and invite them to support my projects.
In addition, I would like to know if I can edit both of my projects until September and propose again?
All the best,
- @Atokhon: Hi Atohon, my name is Chris Schilling, a program officer supporting our Rapid Grants program. Thanks for this general campaign proposal to support Tajik Wikipedia and promote awareness with specific groups in Dushanbe. I wanted to ask about budget item #4 To the military expenses: What does this refer to and how is it related to your project? I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 22:24, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
Hello Chris! Thank you for your feedback and your comment. I'm sorry, this is a technical error. I changed budget item # 4 to Transportation costs. All the best, Atokhon
Request for extension of the project "Promotion of Tajik Wikipedia"
editDear grants administrators! As you know, because of the situations associated with the coronavirus COVID 19, which has spread all over the world, including the countries of Central Asia, most organizations have switched to the remote (remote) work mode, tariffs for services have increased, and the effectiveness of outdoor advertising on the streets has decreased ( due to the decrease in the number of people on the streets). In this regard, I ask you: 1. To extend the implementation of our project until July 31, 2020. 2. Change the articles “Street information stand” to “Create and publish a static banner on the site” and the articles “Outdoor advertising on city taxis and buses” to “Create and place an advertisement on a TV channel”. Because advertising on the site and on TV is one of the most popular, vibrant and effective promotion tools. Thank you in advance!
Best wishes,
Atokhon Ganiev,
project Manager.
