Questions from WMF edit

Hello Jwale2, thank you for submitting this grant report. I have a few questions before accepting your report.

  1. You have reported that you have met your goal in this report. However, I see in your proposal you were proposing to upload 1,000 photos but were only able to upload 477. We can also see using tool that 0% of images were used in Wikimedia projects. Can you please tell us more about your measurement of success?
  2. Furthermore, your grant proposal included the goal of creating or improving 50 articles. Could you please edit your report to include the number of articles created or improved? If you were not able to create or improve any, please explain why.
  3. From your report it sounds like you perhaps had some trouble with your camera or photographic equipment. Could you please explain what happened?
  4. You stated in the report that you would arrange for a tour guide next time. Having a tour guide was one of your goals this time, but it sounds like you were not able to achieve that. What would you do differently in the future to secure a tour guide?

Thank you for taking the time to review and respond to these questions. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 19:14, 27 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Answer edit

Hellow WJifar (WMF), thanks for your reply

  1. With the photo uploads of 1000 its still ongoing so hopefully by the end of December we would be done.
  2. Ok I would do that.
  3. We were taken some shorts/pictures of the fetish priest pouring libation and reciting some incantation and we taken pics as a result of capturing the act one of his followers ask why we were taking pictures, we explained what we were doing but he did not understand so he was in the process of sizing our photo resources, it took the help of people around who were also watching the festival persuaded him to give our resources back to us.
  4. We were not able to achieve that because we did not meet the right people for the volunteer work (tour guide) and time was far spent in advance so we decided to find our way out despite we had knowledge of various festival. Our reason for us getting a guide is to avoid any form confrontation and to take us to place that people without permission can not enter to take shorts/pictures Jwale2 (talk) 00:10, 28 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

A couple of additional comments edit

Hello Jwale2, thank you for responding to most of our questions.

  • In regards to the 1000 photos uploaded, in the future, you can mention in your report that you were unable to reach your goal and hope to complete it by December instead of saying you reached your goal.
  • Would you please let us know when you're able to update the number of articles created or improved in the report. Once we have that information we can go ahead and mark your grant complete.

Looking forward to finishing this up soon. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

A couple of additional comments Answer edit

Hello , WJifar (WMF) thank you for your reply;

Notice edit

Hello,WJifar (WMF) as I stated earlier that by the end of december we would upload all 1000 images but at the moment we were able to upload only 624 images including an audio and video. The reason was that most of the pictures were repetitive.Jwale2 (talk) 12:26, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Additional comments from WMF edit

Hello Jwale2, thank you again for submitting this proposal and for responding to my colleague's questions. I have reviewed your grant report and responses on the discussion page and have additional comments and questions.

  • Since it was unclear to me which original targets you have eventually met, I have added a table to your report page for you to complete.
    • List each of your original targets from your project plan in the table (number of participants, photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, photos used on Wikimedia projects, and number of articles created or improved).
    • List the actual outcome that was achieved.
    • Explain how your outcome compares with the original target. Did you reach your targets? Why or why not?
  • Please confirm that you retain GHC 150 of remaining funds. Will you be the person receiving funds of the Open Festival 2.0 grant if it is approved?
