Hi, Preciousayara, thank you for submitting this new rapid grant request! Please note that we have received a high volume of requests, which may delay our review. We appreciate your patience and will respond to yours as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I have a few questions:

  1. Who will receive the t-shirts? We consider t-shirts to be a high-cost item and generally prefer that grantees don't include them in their projects, or ask for just a few for staff to wear and/or to be given as prizes. Since your event isn't a contest with prizes, please let us know who the 10 t-shirts are for and if it would be possible to reduce the number.
  2. Your application lists a few experienced Wikipedians who might be able to help with the event. Do you actually have their commitment to help with the event? Given that this is your first grant it will be important to have at least one experienced Wikipedian committed to helping.

I will look forward to your reply! Please keep an eye on this discussion page for further comments and questions from us as we review the application.

Hello LSmith (WMF), thank you for your review. In response to your first question, I planned on giving out T-shirts to already existing members of the Edo Wikimedia Hub who will serve as ushers making it easy for the newbies to identify them and ask relevant questions and also, it would make a good picture for the last day of the event that commemorates International World women's day. For the ushers, we can use tags but I do not think tags will suffice for the last day of the event. For your second question, I shared the idea of celebrating International World Women's Day with Olaniyan Olushola who welcomed the idea and has committed to assist me through the process. I'm yet to reach out to User: HandsomeBoy and JamieTubers but I hope that if they cannot be available in person, they can assist in mentoring new editors on the WhatsApp group remotely. Hello Preciousayara, I appreciate you responding to my colleague LSmith (WMF)'s message. This project is one of the first I've seen focusing on all women editors. I'm really looking forward to learning your outcomes. I am approving your grant request. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 06:59, 7 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello WJifar (WMF), I want to bring to your notice a shift in the date of the Nigerian general election which was earlier stipulated for March 3, 2019 but has been shifted to March 9, 2019; the day after the proposed date for this event. Due to this change, I want to propose for a change in the date from March 6 - 8, 2019 to March 20 - 22, 2019 as the target audience of this event fall within the age group of people who will be serving as electoral officers during the election hence I cannot ascertain their availability. Please can you approve the new date? Preciousayara (talk) 13:17, 18 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
