Hi @YPam (WMF), thanks for the feedback. The translation of the available MC content will be completely taken care of before the end of November. Following this, a preliminary research related to how Urdu language projects have their condition now when it comes to Movement Charter will be done between 1 December to 6 December. These findings will be used in: 1: Offline conversation at Deoband and Hyderabad, as far we have discussed with our team internally, between 7 December to 15 December. 2: Online conversations with other members will also be done in between these dates. 3: The number of the participants in the conversation should be about 20 and more. 4: The feedback collected will be collected, edited, and published on the Meta-Wiki from 16 December to 20 December. Please let me know if you need any further clarifications. ─ The Aafī (talk) 03:11, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello @TheAafi Thank you for the details regarding your project timelines, please update your proposal to reflect these details as well. Thank you! YPam (WMF) (talk) 07:52, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@YPam (WMF). Done. ─ The Aafī (talk) 09:23, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi @YPam (WMF). I hope all is well. While preparing the feedback for documentation on Meta, the usergroup's community laptop got accidentally damaged. There is some amount left from the grant that can be used elsewhere subject to your approval (some amount from Food charges, data charges etc). I am seeking your approval for fixing the community's laptop from some of this amount. The damaged part is LCD and I will have a call with the Laptop's Customer Care service tomorrow and get the service scheduled and they will share a quote with me like how much amount I'd be required to pay. Please give us some additional time to report back with our feedback. The community laptop was given to us by CIS-A2K and it is out of warranty but not too old. ─ The Aafī (talk) 10:40, 18 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have started the conversation with the Dell Executive and they would be sharing the quotation anytime soon. More at ticket:2022121910004825. ─ The Aafī (talk) 09:31, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@TheAafi Sorry to learn about your equipment challenges, unfortunately repurposing your current grant funds for the repair or purchase of equipments will not be approved at this time. Regarding the reporting timelines, feedback can now be provided up to the 2nd of January 2023. All the best! YPam (WMF) (talk) 10:27, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Dear @YPam (WMF): This is a request about the underspent amount from this grant, a total of 10,270 INR, for example, an outreach event/workshop with students at the university and helping identify topics of impact or so. If approved, we would be able to spend the amount on any mission aligned activity. Let me know if you have any questions. ─ Aafi @ DCW (talk) 07:54, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello @TheAafi (DCW), thank you for following up regarding your grant underspend. In order to approve your request, please provide details regarding the specific activities you are looking to conduct, including a breakdown of how you would spend the remaining funds. Thank you. YPam (WMF) (talk) 16:18, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello @YPam (WMF), thanks for the response. It is been a long since DCW planned to form an institutional collaboration with Bayt al-Hikmah in Deoband, India. This makes me and advisors to DCW think of doing a photographic events around two places, Deoband and Saharanpur, and a short duration educational workshop in Deoband, which would include things related to best practices about uploading media on Commons. The photographic event would aim at collecting/capturing thematic images locally and making them available under a free license on Wikimedia Commons. The tentative target is 100 images. To avail all of these and have the resources used at the same time for two purposes: the photographic event and following up with the Bayt al-Hikmah, Deoband, and having in-person discussions with them, a visit and stay at Deoband is apparent and mandated. The breakdown of the budget is outlined in this document. Please let me know if you have any questions. ─ Aafi @ DCW (talk) 17:30, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
The tentative date for this would be afterwards our July Conversation Hour and we plan to have this wrapped up in the month of July. ─ Aafi @ DCW (talk) 17:32, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Activities and budget report for the underspent amount INR 10,270

edit

Dear @YPam (WMF): I am happy to share with you the activity report:

Part of the first iteration of Heritage Lens, we conducted three training sessions in Deoband on Basics of Wikimedia Commons, Copyright Attribution Significance and the Freedom of Panorama: that we together named as Empowering Creatives.
We partnered with Bayt al-Hikmah in Deoband and organised a seminar on Digital empowerment and we are hopeful that the institution will continue promoting open knowledge and information literacy among its students.

The budget break-up is as follows:

  • Accommodation charges: 5500 INR
  • Graphics charges: 2000 INR
  • Travel and food: 2770 INR

With this the entire underspent amount from this grant has been utilized in mission aligned activities, and we look forward to learning more from this, and establish better programs. ─ The Aafī (talk) 18:33, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
