Grants talk:Project/KellyDoyle/Engaging Academic Librarians and Sororities to Address the Gender Gap/Final

Final Report accepted edit

Hi KellyDoyle,

Apologies for the delay in formally accepting this report. I am accepting it now.

My comments have been delivered to you through our check-out calls at the end of the project, but I will offer a couple more here:

  • In the big picture, thank you for your multi-staged work to forge a model for a WiR focused on gender equity. I especially love the work you did in this project to bring volunteering editing protocols to sororities with service learning requirements. I know this project faced many obstacles that were unpredicted and beyond your control, following organizational and staff changes at the university, so I appreciate your resourcefulness in continuing to move the work forward in creative ways for as long as you could, and eventually pausing the program in a responsible, well-planned way, when it was needed.
  • Thank you for providing a useful and well-organized archive of the materials that you created and your thinking behind them so that others can make use of your materials going forward.
  • You wrote that "I’m proud of the young women I’ve worked with who felt empowered by their experiences editing Wikipedia - this is something important to share and grow." I love hearing this. I'm proud that this grants program got to support you in doing this work.

I anticipate that we will be doing another push to encourage grant funded projects that address gender equity and I am glad we have these materials to offer future applicants/grantees as a resource.

I wish you luck in your current pursuits, Kelly! It was a joy to work with you.

Warm regards,
