This proposal is very well written and I am grateful of that :)

My main suggestion Esther is that you make sure that the contest focus on quality and not on quantity. Last year, we had troubles with the wikiquote (rather small) English community, which was a bit overwhelmed by the very high number of new contributions. Some being excellent, and others being of questionable quality (not sourced, with poor notability). This created some tensions that we need to avoid. I trust your group to limit this happening thanks to excellent facilitation and training of new participants ! They will need to be reminded that entries should be about or from notable women (---> women with a wikipedia article), and that a special attention should be put on sourcing. A well written entry also need to include an introduction cap, and when possible a picture and a couple of external links. Please by all means, make sure that the prize of the contest is not delivered to « the one that made the highest number of entries » but to strong and excellent entries, to not introduce some incentives that might result in material of poorer quality. I am honored to see you join the SheSaid drive ! And I obviously endorse your request ! Anthere (talk) 10:49, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Ebubechukwu1 thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 1,755,792.24 NGN (2,320 USD) with the following comments:

The project goal of addressing gender bias and underrepresentation of women's voices on Wikiquote has been clearly articulated. The goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) and this is good as well. Additionally good to see that the team has a structured follow-up plan, including the creation of online groups, a WhatsApp group, and a post-event survey. This ensures ongoing engagement and support for participants after the activities.

While the plan is clear a few additions will strengthen the overall project;

  • First we agree with the strong feedback already provided by @Anthere above.
  • The application does not share about any potential challenges or risk mitigation strategies. It's essential to anticipate potential obstacles, such as low participant turnout, technical issues, or conflicts, and outline plans to address these challenges.
  • A link to a Youth Safety Policy you plan to apply will be useful as this proposal mentions working with participants who might be youth. Ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, especially minors, is crucial, and having a clear policy in place is necessary.
