I strongly support this project because it will equip the African Wikimedia communities with the skill needed to contribute to Wikiquote. In Africa, we have less entries on Wikiquote compared to other projects.

This project will bridge the content gap immensely. Major Lyte (talk) 08:09, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Profayobami,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • The applicant and some members of the team don't have experience on the target Wikimedia projects. We require that trainers have relevant experience on the target Wikimedia project. Team members' roles are unclear.
  • We think that the requested budget is not aligned with the project.
  • We encourage the applicant to start with Wikimedia Nigeria UG microgrants to enrich their Wikimedia journey before moving to larger grants.

Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 12:12, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
