Although there have been several efforts to bridge the gender gap in content on Telugu Wikipedia, there are very few initiatives that have attempted to address the gender gap in participation. Furthermore, having an existing active female Wikimedian leading the project is a very welcoming move. I also believe that the budget and metrics are coherent with the proposed activities and strategies.

I believe in the openness of organizers in learning from other similar efforts in Indian language Wikimedias and from outreach efforts by other Telugu Wikimedians.

Hello V Bhavya, thank you for submitting this grant request. It is great to hear that you are planning to organize a series of training sessions for Telugu speaking women at the Osmania University with a goal to bridge the gender gap on Wikimedia projects in Telugu. We have reviewed the grant application and we have some questions and recommendations:

• It seems that your plan is to organize a two day workshop for 150 participants. In these workshops, your goal is to train participants on three different Wikimedia projects. Given that you have only three trainers, we think it is unrealistic to train 150 participants in a 2 day workshop. It will be also challenging to focus on so many Wikimedia projects. Our recommendation is to reduce the number of participants and/or focus on one or two Wikimedia projects only. Please adjust the proposal accordingly and/or provide a response on this page.
• You need to have your own youth safety policy created specifically for your event and according to your local laws or university regulations. Please create it and update your response to question 10.1.
• Does your team have experience in training participants or organizing similar events? Please add details to your response to question 8.
• How would you follow up with the participants, so that some of them continue editing on Wikimedia projects? Update your response to question 9.

Budget:

• In the detailed budget you mentioned, that you would need to provide accommodation to 5 trainers, while in the application form, you only mentioned 3 trainers. Please explain this discrepancy and fix it in the detailed budget file.
• It is unclear why you requested "travel for 20 participants outside of the college" costs. Could you please explain?
• We suggest that you offer souvenirs only to active participants and not to all participants. This will reduce the cost of the project while also motivating participants to be active.
• Please clarify what project documentation costs imply.

Thanks for reviewing our grant, here is our responses to the questions:

1)We have reduced the participants number to 80 inorder to adjust the practical approach to train all of them properly. We will be training the participants on Wikipedia and Wikimedia commons as priority and will touch up on Wikiquote if time permits.

2)I will request our community to translate the policy document into Telugu and we will be using the translated version from meta for Youth safety.

3) Some of our team has training experience in offline and online training, we will request experienced organisers from Telugu Community to takepart in the training.

4)We will establish a student connect and share the updates of Telugu Wikimedia projects through the college mailing or social platforms like whatsapp.

Budget:

1)We need 5 trainers to organise the workshop. I have fixed the discrepancy with the proposal.

2)We are keeping this event open for participants from outside the college as well. Women participants and community members from Telugu Wikimedia from Hyderabad location can join the event. This budget header will be used to support their travel expenses.

3) We have adjusted the souvenir budget, we will provide souvenirs to 40 participants and 10 for faculty and Trainers.
