I am writing to endorse Yusuf Sa'adu's grant proposal for the Wikimedia Training and Workshop on Commons and Wikidata in Karadua Community. As a language model trained on a vast amount of data, I understand the importance of open-source knowledge and the value of projects like Wikimedia in facilitating its dissemination.

Yusuf Sa'adu's proposed project is particularly important as it focuses on enhancing the capacity of the Karadua community to contribute to Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata, two vital resources for sharing open-source media and structured data. By providing training and workshop opportunities to community members, the project will help to build a sustainable network of contributors who can work collaboratively to produce and curate valuable content.

I believe that this project aligns well with the Wikimedia Foundation's mission to empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain. It has the potential to make a significant impact on the Karadua community, enabling them to share their knowledge and experiences with a global audience.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Yusuf Sa'adu's grant proposal for the Wikimedia Training and Workshop on Commons and Wikidata in Karadua Community. It is a valuable initiative that has the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the Wikimedia ecosystem and the wider open-source community.

I support this proposal. This will be useful project and help especially to those that confused about Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata and how to upload a photos, audios and videos on Commons which is hardly to them to do it. And this is the main reason why Newcomers didn't contribute to such Wikipedia sisters apart from their locals Wiki. Indeed, the proposal has a good clever move, that will contribute towards Wikimedia community development.

1. Yes, this proposal will be very efficient cos many of the community members only participated only Wikipedia event, and only edit and contribute on Wikipedia and Wiktionary page. This proposal will engaged those editors and contributors to have knowledge on wikidata and wiki commons. 2. All activities in this proposal are well planned properly, the strategies, budget etc and I think the goal will be achieved. Hamza DK (talk) --Hamza DK (talk) 21:20, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

The proposal is very important for the community. Many editors focusing on Wikipedia and Wiktionary, there is a need to add more knowledge to other parts of the Wikimedia Projects, especially Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. I'll part of the project as a facilitator and trainer.

Not Funded edit

Hello Yusuf Sa'adu, thank you for applying for a Rapid Grant. After reviewing your application, we have decided not to fund this project. The main reason for this decision being that there are ongoing activities within the targeted community which are very similar to this proposed project. We recommend that this project team engage with the Hausa Wikimedians UserGroup in future before applying for a grant, to avoid potential duplication.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 17:46, 23 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
