Contribution to the Wikimedia Community

Relevance and the sustainability of the project

Akure is the capital city of Ondo State, South Western Nigeria and I am highly fascinated about the strategic location of the project. The project will go a long way to sensitise the populace about Wikimedia projects, encourage them to contribute their quota to Wikipedia in terms of tribe, Languages, historical places and their various cultures by using edit-a-thon. Reinforce the authenticity of Wikipedia

A lot believe wikipedia is flawed however by execution of this project, the participants will understand and see how articles are added and that the encyclopedia is controlled and protected from vandalism. Wikimedia Promotion in Akure is targeted to inform divergent group of people about Wikimedia Promotion projects and it will go a long way to document the culture and language of the host community. I have worked with the project lead on some projects and o do not doubt the her capacity to deliver the project. Also, as a facilitator, I will also contribute to ensure the success of the project. They may be able to support you in the organizing process and help you during the training sessions. Please confirm here that you will reach out to the User Group and try collaborating with them.

Collaboration with Yoruba Wikimedians User Group

As stated in the Grant proposal, I intend to collaborate with the Yoruba User Group in creating a community of Wikimedia Editors in Akure and to ensure this ,Taoheedah who is an active member of the Yoruba Wikimedians Yoruba Group and has created various articles in Yoruba is one of the facilitators for the project.

It is easier to reach the leaders of the Yoruba Wikimedians Nigeria User Group through her and this will to help in the execution of the project as well as in the creation and sustainability of the community
