I strongly endorse this proposal. This project effectively bridges the knowledge gap and boosts local content on Wikimedia. The well-structured plan, combining workshops, online campaigns, and mentorship, ensures sustainable impact and active participation. Experienced trainers and strong university collaboration promise high-quality results. This initiative aligns with the Movement Strategy 2030 and addresses digital access needs in underrepresented communities. --Sirjat (talk) 08:09, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I strongly endorse this proposal. As one of the facilitators, I will bring my extensive experience and understanding of Wikimedia projects to this initiative. This proposal is very important as it will raise awareness at one of the biggest private universities in Kano and will also recruit new editors to Wikimedia projects.

Rapid Fund Request : Not Funded

edit

Dear Usman,

Thank you for submitting your application. After a thorough review of your proposal, we have made a decision not to fund your proposal. See the notes speaking to the rationale of the decision below;

  • The project is an awareness project in a university and given the activities, - there is no alignment between the resources being requested and the activities and their anticipated outcomes.
    • A significant part of the proposed project does not require resourcing as indicated in the proposal.
    • Unclear on the strategy of issuing flyers in a university targeting digital-oriented participation in projects.
  • There is also a lack of a clear plan on what happens next to those engaged.

Thank you. VThamaini (WMF) (talk) 13:50, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
