--Ardzun (talk) 05:53, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your application has been approved

edit

Hello @Zhilal Darma,

Congratulations! Your grant application has been approved in the amount of IDR 74,620,000 from 3 October 2024 to 20 January 2025. Could you adjust your proposed budget accordingly? You can do that by adding a new tab to the existing excel sheet and labelling it revised. Once you have made the revisions, please reply to this talkpage post. Note that approved amount is based on the prevailing IDR/ USD exchange rate adopted by WMF Finance team.

Observations/ Recommendations

  • Thank you for putting together a comprehensive application. We particularly appreciate your sharing about your past grant / project management experience, with links to your previous projects. Some questions, comments and recommendations captured during the review process requires your response:
    • 1) The proposal is clear, explains impact, and is viable
    • 2) The applicant has laid out comprehensive plans
    • 3) There were also others in the review process who were seeking more clarifications around the engagement process and more details about referencing related to the palaces - 3a) Limited engagement through a single meetup and 3b) Is there any other literature/material explaining the palaces, besides that one paper?
    • 4) For question 17, apart from what you have proposed, we'll also like to recommend that you put together a short brief/ guidelines on best practices in researching and documenting built heritage based on your local context and learnings. This best practices guideline that you produce will be useful for future teams who may be interested in doing similar work. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, they can re-purpose your documentation (i.e. planning, workflow etc) to support their project implmentation. Please include this as one of the outputs in your learning report.

We know even the best thought through plans may change

In the event that there are changes to your implementation schedule, you can reach out to request for a grant extension (i.e. extend end date). Similarly, if there is a surplus budget or changes to your planned budget, you can reach out to me about reallocation (via email and on this talkpage). There is also the option to have the unspent funds deducted against a future grant. More details here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Return_unused_funds_to_WMF

Additional resources which may be useful

We thank you for your participation in the grant application process and hope to continue to journey with you as you embark on this project. Let’s continue having regular conversations over the course of your grant implementation. Please let me know if you require support in any way or would like to share your experiences with a wider community through the Let's Connect Programme or at ESEAP community meetings.

Hello @JChen (WMF)
Thank you for supporting this program and for providing your recommendations and suggestions.
I will respond to the points mentioned above. The budget adjustments have been revised and can be viewed in the attachment here.
1. Limited engagement to a single meetups was based on the location of the event, which was held in West Kalimantan (Pontianak), and the location of the proposer, who resides in West Sumatra (Padang). This made the palace theme more easily accepted in both places. That being said, we are very open to collaborating with other communities or activities outside of this project that are interested in Wiki Istana Kalbar. We understand that the frequency of meetings may seem limited, but we believe that this initiative can be the first step toward a larger effort. In the future, we are open to building a more extensive network and collaboration.
2. There are several pieces of literature that explain the palaces in West Kalimantan. Below are some relevant literatures that served as the foundation for planning this activity here.
3. Based on the suggestions given, we will attempt to create a brief guideline on best practices for researching and documenting cultural heritage, based from the context and lessons learned during Wiki Istana Kalbar .
Thank you.
