Follow-up conversation edit

Hello @HuwacBasaw1234,

It was very nice connecting with you earlier. I am documenting the notes from our conversation. Please feel free to make further edits.

Local Context

  • Could you share about the history and growth of the Seediq Wiki community over time?
    • We started 7 years ago. It took 3 years to move our project from an incubator stage to having our own language wikipedia page (i.e. Wikipepdia Kari Seediq). When we started we secured supported from Cheng Chi University, Ministry of Education and one more indigenous language centre. Now that we are a more established grouping of volunteers Cheng Chi University suggested that we could be more independent in running our activities including securing future funding. They then shared about rapid fund grants and we put in an application.
  • What are the main wikiprojects that the community (or key editors) has/have knowledge about and contribute to?
    • Focus most efforts on Wikipedia. Adding new articles
    • We are looking for more experienced editors to teach us how to navigate the wiki sphere - Wikimedia Taiwan for technical support
    • Taiwan influencers/ editors: How to use IG/ FB social media to increase visibility of the movement.
    • Oral documentation -> blog -> create wikipedia articles -> publish on IG/ FB

Impact

  • What is the vision or desired state of your wiki community/ wiki projects?
    • We need to think about long term sustainability - both resources and also members
    • In future, we hope our group and membership will be more stable. This will be a goal - editors/ native speakers (who are teachers); Increase awareness and visibility; Set up a formal user group

Programme and Strategy

  • Could you provide a project timeline?
  • Question 5: Could you provide further background and experience of the team? Have you worked together before? Have you had some experience with participating in or organising similar activities/projects?

Noted: You will be adding these information into your application on Fluxx.

Budget Alignment Is there a need to buy a camera for the project? Are there existing cameras that you can use? What do you plan to do with the camera after the project?

  • We really need a camera for the audiovisual component. If the equipment has higher capability, it will provide better sound and visual quality for recording. The camera will be a common asset of the user group as we will use it for future activity

Thank you.
