There's high demand for a great gadget on Azerbaijani Wikipedia for automatization of eveyday work. Adiutor has been a great alternative for Twinkle with modern UI (OOUI) which makes it easy wiki-friendly and well-integrated. Its codebase and flexibility is second to none. I would say the idea is very interesting and gives opportunity to developers to show their skills in improving Wikimedia projects. The gadget aims for improving and automatizing content on Wikipedia. The same might be applied for the other Wikimedia projects as well. As "Knowledge as a Service" goal states, this tool is going to be essential across many projects. --Toghrul R (talk) 13:00, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Vikipolimer, and thanks for your proposal for technical improvements to the Adiutor gadget, currently on Turkish Wikipedia. We will be funding the proposal, but wanted to understand a few aspects of the project a bit better. When you're able, please respond below:

  • Could you provide a specific answer to this proposal question: "What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?" Based on the proposal, it's not clear what features or aspects of the Adiutor you expect to improve. Another way of thinking about this is by answering: What are the minimum goals you hope to achieve? How will you know if this project was successful? Because the project is focused on making the project across languages, will it be possible to fully translate Adiutor by the end of this project?
  • Also, the application page mentions GitHub but, a link to Github isn't clearly available. Could you provide a link to your repository or where feature requests and bug reports currently (or soon) transparently managed?

With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 18:53, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @I JethroBT (WMF), thanks for questions.
  • The activities we will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies include:
    • Adapting Adiutor to 10 Wikipedias: Our minimum goal is to make Adiutor available and functional on 10 different language versions of Wikipedia. This involves adapting the tool to the specific needs and requirements of each Wikipedia community.
    • Completing auto configuration: We aim to streamline the configuration process of Adiutor to make it easier for Wikipedia communities to implement and use the tool. This includes automating the setup and initialization process to reduce the effort required for installation and customization.
    • Improving cross-language compatibility: One of the key objectives of this project is to ensure that Adiutor can be fully translated and localized across different languages. We will work on providing language support and enabling translation capabilities to make Adiutor accessible to a broader user base.
    • Monitoring and evaluation: We will establish monitoring mechanisms to track the progress and impact of Adiutor implementation on various Wikipedias. This will help us assess the success of the project and determine if the desired goals are achieved. Key indicators of success include the successful adaptation of Adiutor to multiple Wikipedias and positive feedback from the respective communities.
We apologize for the confusion regarding the link to the GitHub repository. At this stage, we are in the process of preparing all the documentation and source codes for sharing. We will create a GitHub repository for Adiutor once the project officially starts. The repository will serve as a central hub for managing feature requests, bug reports, and transparent collaboration. We will ensure that the link to the repository is provided and made available for public access as soon as it is set up. Please let us know if you have any further questions or require additional information. ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ โ„ฃ 19:26, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
