Regional Committee feedback & questions
editHello, M.D. Shahinyan & Beko! The Regional Committee is pleased to see Wikimedia Armenia’s application for the General Support Fund. The committee initially reviewed the proposal, & wanted to offer feedback & questions for your review.
- The committee felt the proposal was strong in several areas.
- The structure of your timetable shows good preparation practices & how you are balancing the demands of programming throughout the year.
- Wikimedia Armenia has learned from its past work & governance practices with respect to needs for transparency in communication practices.
- There are strong organizational skills of your team related to program planning & execution.
- Having a specific person in the role of the Event Manager who can support evaluation across programs & events.
- Robust set of partnerships among different sectors.
- Was the metric of 400 retained editors determined, based on currently active or new editors?
- Are the active editors generally men? Or are the demographics of active editors generally balanced?
- How the increased funding request of 14 % is allocated across the budget?
- Are cleaning expenses primarily for staffing?
In terms of the schedule for our review process, please, complete your review & responses to the committee feedback by May 20th. After this time, the Regional Committee will begin a final review of the proposal to make a formal decision. Thanks again for your work on the proposal & supporting our review.
Best wishes on behalf of the Regional Committee,--W (talk) 07:54, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Regional Committee Members,
- First, on behalf of Wikimedia Armenia, I want to thank you for your objective and detailed feedback on our proposal, we are pleased to see your acknowledgments and it is highly appreciated.
- 1. 400 retained editors per year are those who stay with us and continue to participate and contribute to various other Wikimedia projects after their first project ends. This sum includes both newcomers as well as already experienced contributors and is easily tracked because Wikimedia Armenia uses application forms for most of the projects.
- 2. Analyzing the participation in our projects, and contributions made in Wikimedia projects organized by Wikimedia Armenia, we can happily state that female involvement in recent years has grown steadily and now more than 70% of all participants are females. Maintaining a higher rate of female participation in our projects is one of our priorities for upcoming years.
- 3. The primary allocation sites of the increased budget are:
- · Covering the increased cost of products and services
- · Increased need for long-term contractors – this is vital to maintain already developed partnerships and other funding sources for upcoming years as well
- · A slight increase in compensation for existing staff members, to cover the inflation and increased workload
- 4. About Hygiene and the cleaning line in the budget - yes the included sum is for personnel. Everything else needed for cleaning is included in the office supplies line. M.D. Shahinyan (talk) 21:07, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
