Not funded edit

Hello PegCult,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • While the project idea is interesting, there is no clear activity plan to achieve the proposed change. Many details of the application are unclear. For example, what skills will be increased? What contributions will be made and how? What are the tools mentioned on the application?
  • If your project plans to include activities that are connected to editing on Wikimedia projects, you are required to have experienced Wikimedian trainers or their support in the team.
  • You mentioned that you would partner with the local community but you need to notify them and agree on these partnerships in advance.
  • We think that the budget details are not aligned with the proposal or details are missing in the proposal. For example, what is the "media tour" mentioned? What are learning and evaluation sessions?
  • We recommend starting with smaller projects, partnering with the local Wikimedian groups in advance and applying with a joint application. We also recommend submitting more complete proposals where the activities and their alignment with the proposed budget is clear.

Hello @DSaroyan (WMF),
Thanks for the informative feedback.
We left you a mail to see how we could update this proposal according to your comments and to see to what extent to think about having better experiences and allowing through experienced wikimedians training and contributions around the project.
We thank you, PegCult (talk) 21:32, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
