Q. Indicate if it is a local, international, or regional proposal and if it involves several countries? (optional)

Local

Q2. If you have answered regional or international, please write the country names and any other information that is useful for understanding your proposal.

1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Sport is a very widespread activity and very practiced by populations in the World in general and in Africa in particular and it goes a long way to unite these regions. Several sports studies focus on information and sports news. But information and even sports news is not always known by these populations; which further weakens this sector. Based on this observation, Michel Desbordes in a commentary on his book Économie du sport en Afrique, 2022 finds that: "African successes or achievements are not always highlighted in our latitudes. For example, Senegalese wrestling is almost unknown to us, ...Qatar: it will organize the world cycling championships in 2025 and sponsors even the football clubs of Arsenal and PSG. The "Kigali Arena" is very modern and the basketball league is developed locally by the NBA, for the first time in African history." The lack of information could primarily be due to the fact that less information is found on renown platforms such as Wikipedia, hence there is a gap in sports information which this project looks forward to solve. What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Sports information accessibility, behavioral change in young people in terms of Knowledge acquisition, activating communities to contribute to adding sports information to Wikimedia project How has the importance of this change been assessed Michel Desbordes' study allows us to position ourselves on the issue of Sports in Africa.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Directive, Educative and participative strategies will be the main focuses of this project. Those strategies include some steps: awareness to obtain new contributors desire is important for the involvement of new contributors for the impetus of a new dynamic in the working group, this is an important step knowledge comes from understanding and skill. These will be done through training and coaching. Ability and reinforcement

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

These will be done through: descent on the field (campus, stadiums, ...) training and coaching.

4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.

This could arouse in them the feeling of belonging to a community.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

11. Please tell us about how you have let your Wikimedia communities know about the planned activities and this proposal. Use this space to describe the processes you carried out to make the community more involved in planning this proposal. Please link the on-wiki community discussion(s) around the proposals.

Presently, since this is a prototype of the actual project we look forward to developing, we have informed a few members of the Wikimedia community who will help us implement the prototype. We consider this grant proposal a proof of concept which will definitely be presented to the Wikimedia communities as soon as there is a clear vision of workability as this project is a cut across especially the African Communities. In order to involve more communities in this project, we intend to organize exchange sessions with the various leaders and project coordinators of these communities to expose them to the project and seek for potential partnerships.
