April 12 Proposal Deadline: Is your project ready for funding?

The deadline for Individual Engagement Grant (IEG) submissions this round is April 12th, 2016. If you’ve developed your idea into a project that would benefit from funding, consider applying!

To apply, you must (1) create a draft request using the “Expand into an Individual Engagement Grant” button on your idea page, (2) complete the proposal entirely, filling in all empty fields, and (3) change the status from "draft" to "proposed." As soon as you’re ready, you should begin to invite any communities affected by your project to provide feedback on your proposal talk page.

If you have any questions about IEG or would like support in developing your proposal, we're hosting a few proposal help sessions this month in Google Hangouts:

@Touzrimounir: Thanks for your reply. I've moved over any content from the Inspire Campaign proposal to this PEG proposal, and have created a redirect from Grants:IdeaLab/Wikipedia African Academy 2016 to the PEG proposal itself. I've also moved over the discussion page to this PEG discussion page for the proposal. Please feel free to review the last revision of the Inspire Campaign page in case I've missed anything.

In terms of feedback, I think the proposal is off to a good start. Here are some suggestions:

• Some of the content you've written can be moved into some of the empty sections of the proposal here. First, I think moving most of your content in the What is your solution section into the "Activities" section would be good. You can provide a brief summary your plan in a few sentences in the What is your solution section so it's easy for readers to understand how you'll generally address the problems you've identified. It also looks like the billeted content under Project goals seems like a good fit for the measures of success section.
• Some sections are empty and will need to be filled out, under the Plan and Resources and risks sections. I've added some notes on how to think about what to write in these sections, but let me know if you have questions.
• Consider reaching out to editing communities you are hoping to improve as a result of this project. For instance, if you'll be directing people to contribute to/learn about Arabic Wikipedia or Arabic Wikisource for these activities, consider inviting people from those communities to provide feedback here. For Arabic Wikipedia, you might consider posting a short invitation at this proposals page. What Wikimedia projects are you thinking about with this proposal?
