Grants to improve your project edit

Greetings! The Project Grants program is currently accepting proposals for funding. The deadline for draft submissions is tommorrow. If you have ideas for software, offline outreach, research, online community organizing, or other projects that enhance the work of Wikimedia volunteers, start your proposal today! Please encourage others who have great ideas to apply as well. Support is available if you want help turning your idea into a grant request.

The next open call for Project Grants will be in October 2016. You can also consider applying for a Rapid Grant, if your project does not require a large amount of funding, as applications can be submitted anytime. Feel free to ping me if you need help getting your proposal started. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) 22:49, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I JethroBT (WMF) thank you for your message. My proposal is up, and I hope it can somehow be useful for the Wikipedia community. :) --Ανώνυμος Βικιπαιδιστής 12:18, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request not funded edit

Dear Ανώνυμος Βικιπαιδιστής,

We think training is a very promising strategy for building community skills for addressing harassment and we're pleased that you're interested in working on this idea. Because harassment is a sensitive topic to address, however, any training that attempts to tackle it will need to be carried out with nuanced understanding of the issues and with sensitivity to the dynamics of the relevant communities. For that reason, we need a much more fleshed-out plan before we can make a sufficient review of your proposal. Activities, participants and community support will need to be outlined in much greater detail than is currently true of this request. We also need you to set clear SMART targets.

We welcome your further engagement with this issue and would be happy to have you resubmit another proposal once you have developed your plan further, making it clear exactly how you would go about creating a training campaign that would effectively motivate and inform both the senior and new users about "the correct way interacting within the community."

Thanks for your interest in the Wikimedia movement.

Best regards,

Hello Marti (WMF) and thank you for your reply. :) I'm really sorry that you didn't find my proposal fundable because I thought it would really help to improve the community health of the Greek Wikipedia. I also thought that I could have a longer period of time to see the impact that my proposal had in the Greek Agora and at the Teahouse . I also wasn' t aware about the SMART targets and why should I. Nevertheless thank you again.--Ανώνυμος Βικιπαιδιστής 14:04, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Dear Ανώνυμος Βικιπαιδιστής,
I missed this comment before, and I'm sorry to be so late in replying. I didn't mean to imply that you should know about SMART targets in advance. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear. I was providing the link because, as I said, we're pleased that you're working on this idea and we'd like to fund efforts in this area. However, before we can fund you, we need more information about your plan in your proposal. I was providing the link to SMART targets because I think it's a useful page to reference if you'd like to further develop your proposal and resubmit it. I'm also available to meet with you individually if you'd like to talk through how to flesh out your application.
Cheers, --Marti (WMF) (talk) 23:45, 11 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Adopt-a-user edit

Are you familiar with en:Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user at the English Wikipedia and a dozen other languages? It is more or less about the same thing. Finnusertop (talk) 23:45, 10 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Finnusertop, I wasn't aware that it already existed until a fellow wikipedian informed me in the Greek Village pump, after I had made my proposal here. I'm already working on it and hopefully in a short period of time I'll have it running in the Greek Wikipedia. :) --Ανώνυμος Βικιπαιδιστής 06:29, 11 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
