Outcome
edit- Option 2: Learning Pattern: What is one useful learning pattern you can share with the Wikimedia movement?
Connections
editMy wiki activity is with people across Africa and around the world. This Wikimania was sad as often Wikimania is the only opportunity for some of us to meet face to face and to properly connect beyond Skype, hangouts and Facebook. However, despite so many people not being able to attend, it was wonderful to see so many faces that I had met over the year at Wiki Indaba and the Wikimedia Conference in Berlin, as well as others from the CC Summit a few months earlier. It was also good to explore the possibilities of potential projects with User:Dimi_z, User:Kritzolina and others too many to mention, and it was especially great to reconnect with good friends User:Anthere and User:Iopensa.
Anything else
editUser:Anthere and I presented a few of our projects at the sessions, lightening talks and panels - here are the links to the presentations:
- Presentation on Wiki Loves Women (this was changed from a panel as so many of our Wiki Loves Women colleagues could not join us)
- Lightening talks 2: WikiFundi : editing Wikipedia offline across Africa
- Panel discussion : Knowledge for everyone: making access affordable
We also had a stand for Wiki Loves Africa and some of our other projects. And most importantly, Pookie (the Wiki In Africa mascot) joined the official Wikimedia Cuteness Association.
