What Movement Strategy initiative is this draft plan supporting?

What activities have you completed to produce this draft plan?

  • Preliminary theory of change analysis, evaluation, and community updates about the upcoming project activities through an initial diff blog post.
  • Research on the community needs and feasibility of an East African Regional Hub, together with community facilitators from each of the target communities to enhance efficiency in the community outreach, sensitization, and research. Part of their role was to provide the core team with an overview of their community landscape and provide advisory on the local community landscape to ensure that we had equal representation and participation of the East African and other target communities.
  • Planning, Community engagement, and consultation - A key component of EARTH’s  planning phase involved community sensitization around the Movement strategy recommendations and initiatives as part of capacity building efforts. This was informed by the recognition that the majority of folks in the emerging communities in East Africa are newcomers who had not been aware of the Movement Strategy 2030 and indeed findings from the research affirmed 72% of the respondents had not heard about or engaged in movement strategy conversations. This was followed by community engagement, as well as engagement of other hubs like ESEAP, CEE, the advisory team, and other similar initiatives to gather input on the research results, planning, and next steps. Results from this phase were shared with the movement with a second diff blog post. A review of the hubs pilot guidelines template together with the communities and also, the Core Team’s review of the Movement Charter hubs guidelines on hubs.
