Project Goal edit

  1. Socialize with community members
    en:Yes. We arrange monthly meetings, each 2-3 hours long, during which we socialize, make presentations, do training and editing. These meetings take place in Ufa and other cities in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

  1. What is the purpose of the meeting and why is it important to your community?
    en:Starting with 2015, we conduct monthly meetings for active editors at which we socialize, exchange experience, discuss future events, plan our activities, talk about possible participation in international competitions and conferences, celebrate holidays and notable/memorable days. Given the age and gender diversity among our editors, such meetings are very important for all participants. We find free accommodation for such meetings in cafes, libraries, museums. To cover the costs of the food and beverages, the organizers and participants spend their own money. Some contributors come to such meetings from other cities, towns and villages. However, some cannot afford the costs of food, beverages and transportation, and therefore miss the opportunity to meet other community members.     ru:С 2015 года мы ежемесячно проводим встречи активных редакторов для общения, обмена опытом, обсуждения будущих событий, планирования своих мероприятий, рассмотрения участия в международных конкурсах и конференциях, чтобы отметить памятные дни и праздники. С учетом возрастного и гендерного разнообразия наших редакторов, такие встречи очень полезны для всех участников. Для проведения встреч мы находим бесплатные помещения в кафе, библиотеках, музеях. Для приобретения еды и напитков организаторы и участники используют собственные средства. На встречи приезжают участники, проживающие в других городах и селах. Но не все могут позволить себе большие затраты на еду, напитки, транспорт и поэтому лишены возможности общения.   2. If applicable, what benefits have you seen from doing this kind of meeting in the past?
    en:Such meetings help find new contributors and teach them to edit articles. Experienced contributors improve their skills. our community is growing fast and actively participates in the international marathons "Asia Month" and "Wiki-Spring 2016."

  1. How will you let participants know about the meeting?
    en:We announce meetings at the dedicated Wiki-meetings page, at the general Bashkir Wikipedia page, in the Bashkir Wikipedia group in the social network VKontakte, and by sending personal invitation messages to active editors.
    ru: Мы информируем участников на специальной странице викивстреч, на общем форуме Башкирской Википедии, в группе Башкирской Википедии в социальной сети «Вконтакте», через персональную рассылку сообщений-приглашений активным редакторам.
  2. How will you keep participants engaged after the meeting is over?
    en:We take contact data of the participants of our meetings, and experienced editors keep in touch with the new participants.

  3. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
    en:We plan to conduct our meetings more often and in a wider range of locations, so we can attract more interested people. Experienced editors will have to visit towns and rural locations, and help conduct the meetings.
