Project Goal

- Recruit new editors
- Train participants on different Wikidata tools such as Quickstaments, ‘Mix n Match’, Terminator etc
- Link wikipedia articles to Wikidata items using databox and bio templates

editTell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?
- Day 1. Participants will be introduced to Wikimedia and Wikidata tools. We will organize a hands-on session for participants to contribute to Wikidata using Quickstatements and the Mix n Match tool.
- Day 2. We will invite experienced Wikidata contributors to train participants on how to use the databox and the bio templates.Participants will have the opportunity to learn from volunteers from communities such as the Dagbani and the Gurene Wikimedia communities.
How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

- Dagbani WIkimedians subpages
- Wikimedians User Group mailing list.
- Gurenɛ Wikimedia Community's talk page.
What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?
- By the end of the session,
- The participants from the hackathon will automatically become members of our community
- We will write a blogpost to highlight the learning experiences of participants from the hackathon
- Participants will also be able to use the Quikstatement tool to do mass edits of wikidata items.
- After the hackathon we will conduct a survey to determine the challenges of Participants with regards to contributing to wikidata using these tools
