Activities

edit

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

Due to current health measures due to the Covid-19 pandemic; this will be a series of 4 edit-a-thons with two different groups of participants, spread over two months.
We are planning :
  • A first session for each group focused on training and improving skills on Wikipedia and how to use Wikipedia in general and ;
  • A second session (for each group of course) based on the creation and improvement of articles related to the theme of this year's Art + Feminism campaign.

2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

through the WhatsApp group, Telegram group, Facebook page, mailing list and some posters.

3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

Our team has three experienced editors who will help facilitate training and editathons

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, half of them will bring their own laptop and for the rest, the user group will find a way to allocate a few computers for them.
As recommended by Art+f this year, there will be a pre-established list of items to be improved to make it easier for participants to get together.

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We already have a whatsapp group, telegram and a facebook page where all the publishers are members; we would like to add all the new ones on these social media channels where they will start receiving all the news and invitations to participate in the weekly Wikipermanence meetings.

6. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

Yes, but each session will be limited to ten participants only to respect the distancing protocols;
  • Temperature sampling;
  • Hand washing and;
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

As this is our second city-wide campaign, we want to bring more impact to women's participation, which is why we will be working with women journalists and girls in the Gradi-jeunes.
