1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

According to a survey we made on https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1u2I3eYP8sdFbZ8x3fVK2ow7ZXviVFlgpR7XLsGGDSvY/edit?usp=sharing, majority of the student's in institutions in Lagos, Nigeria do not have any idea about the movement or it's platforms. This project will introduce new editors and volunteers from the institution to Wikipedia and Wikidata and also expose them to the movement. Although, Nigerian institutions are not female dominated but has seen a dramatic increase in female undergraduates in the past 12 years therefore, this project will focus more on gender, ethnic, religious and cultural related articles. Also, there are fewer articles or items about notable women on Wiki projects. This is a crucial subject for us because we will want to contribute our efforts to reducing the movement's significant bias.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Our primary strategy for this project will be capacity building. We will hold two offline training events outside of campus due to a lack of space. Participants will receive instruction in everything from Wikipedia and Wikidata fundamentals to quality editing. The emphasis of these articles will be on the items, appearance, style, categories, references, size, hyperlinks, headings, and subheadings of the article and we will be focusing more on the subject of women on Wikipedia and its sister project.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

We intend to hold four edit-a-thons in order to teach or train 100 students, mostly females, how to edit Wikipedia articles and contribute to Wikidata. We'll also teach them how to stay involved in the Wikimedia movement, as well as how to interact with the Nigerian Wikimedia community and the movement's various campaigns and other global efforts. This is critical for increasing participation and interest in the cause.

We intend to introduce the movement and its platforms at the first event, start Wikipedia training at the second, Wikidata at the third, and hold a competition at the final. To close the content gender gap, we will prioritize female, gender, ethnic, religious, and cultural articles.

Gender gap in content: focuses on including females not only as artists but also as workshop participants and, hopefully, as editors.

Geography: because it will include youth from marginalized areas as editors and future organizers.

Age: it will make an attempt to include young people as contributors and, ideally, future organizers. No prior knowledge of Wikimedia is required to participate. We hope to engage these participants by issuing an open invitation to participate via specific communication channels such as posters, social media, and the SUG.

We intend to retain participants through our one-on-one mentorship system, which ensures participants' ongoing involvement in Wikimedia activities. We also track community members' contributions through the Outreach Dashboard in order to reward top contributors who contribute after the events.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

We will include a friendly space policy in our registration form for participants who wish to participate in our activities. Harassment in any form will not be tolerated.
