There's widespread lack of awareness and editing know-how of Wikipedia in the Dutsin-Ma metropolis and the environ. The school is a strategic college of education that has students from diverse environment. Bringing Wikipedia to the community will be a great service to education and open knowledge. I seek by this project to bring Wikipedia closer to them, through editing tutorials and live support as well as train potential trainers in the future.

Bringing Wikipedia editing and awareness to students has great potential. Note only they become editors and valuable contributors they have the potential to also introduce it to other students and peers and even beyond teh school campus. This will ultimately help improve Wikipedia articles and contents and overall Wikimedia mission of providing free knowledge to all and sundry.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Creating awareness about Wikipedia, the important online encyclopedia as well as other Wikimedia educational projects. Providing avenue for training of potential trainser from students and the college faculty and also recruiting new editors for improving Wikipedia. Additionally it will provide room for improving skills of editors that already edit Wikipedia. Another important change would be adding content, creating and improving content of Wikipedia and other projects during the event.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
  • Organize a full day physical event for training and editing workshop to students of the college and other interested individuals.
  • Hold interactive session will school union leaders to devise means to sustain the project via providing support to new people and
  • Create and organise a group of Wikimedia editors in the college, for activities coordination, community building and sustainability.
