As a result of the different projects I've led in Kano State, there are more editors of Wikimedia projects in the region especially from Sa'adatu Rimi College of Education and Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano. Many editors are focused on Wikipedia and Wikidata. Individually, editors often asking me for more information about many questions related to Wikimedia Commons, because of this I understand some problems with editors that I wanted to solve. The problems include;

This program will help to solve these problems that editors from my area are usually asking me.

The purpose of this program is to teach editors some important things that will help them in their editing. • On the second day I will show how to use files from Wikimedia Commons to other Wikipedia Sister Projects. I will expand this by explaining in detail how to search for files in Wikimedia Commons and the requirements before using files in articles. And also we will focus on teaching how to add files to Wikidata Items.

Virtual

  • Before the physical event day, I will organise a virtual meetup in order to guide the participants on what they have to do on the day of physical event and also asking them some questions related to the event in order to understand what they need.
