Impactful edit

Gwanki has been a very active champion of Wikipedia and its sister projects, this is in addition to many years of vast experience as an editor. This has earned him the enviable position to be a regular trainer in many Wikimedia projects in Northern Nigeria and by extension Nigeria. His project/p proposal is timely and consistent with the mission and vision of Wikimedia that is geared towards sustainability. It will not only impact the target community and help immensely in documentations, but it would also be of great relevance in raising more new editors. I offer my highest recommendations! I endorsed this proposal 100%, because Wikimedia Commons Workshop have never take place in Kano while the Kano is among the location which has the numbers of editors on Wikipedia, Wikdata and Wiktionary and most of these editors they don't know how to improve an article by uploading photos. Through this project several editors will have an experience on Wikimedia Commons and the articles which hasn't a photos will be improved. Finally, base on the experience and expert of the project organizer, this project will improve the Wikimedian projects.

Hausa edit

l was supported this project Grant because many people are aware about Hausa language, so I want to help and encouraging people to understand the activities of Hausa Wikipedia. Many people across the globe the already know Hausa people that is why Hausa is predominantly a language that circulate every corner in the world. I like to think that Hausa Wikipedia or Hausa language is More helpful for finding the feedback from many sources of events. We are happy to have an idea about Hausa Wikipedia and it's sisters projects. Mamman AA (talk) 05:48, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I strongly in support of this project on the ground that not every existing editor having the skill and knowledge of Wikipedia Commons so if this project is to be carried out in the stated area will improve the knowledge of Wikipedia Commons for editors in Kano.

Not funded edit

Hello Gwanki,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • We think that the requested budget is not aligned with the desired impact. The project significance is not clear and impact on Wikimedia projects is not sufficient.

Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:38, 9 November 2022 (UTC) (on behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team)Reply
