Executive Summary: We are seeking funding for a strategically significant meeting involving Indian representatives attending the Wikimedia Summit in Berlin. Scheduled for mid-February, this meeting is designed to prepare participants for informed and active engagement in the Summit's discussions, with a focus on the review and analysis of the Movement Charter Drafts. Project Overview: The proposed strategic meeting aims to bring together Indian representatives attending the Wikimedia Summit in Berlin for a comprehensive review and discussion. This meeting is essential to enable participants to engage in meaningful conversations, exchange insights, and collaboratively form a collective opinion on critical matters that will be discussed during the summit. Importance of the Meeting: The Wikimedia Summit holds great significance for the Wikimedia community, as it provides a platform to discuss and review the Movement Charter Drafts. The proposed meeting will facilitate a thorough review of these drafts, allowing Indian representatives to contribute effectively to the conversations at the summit. By organising this meeting, we aim to ensure that our representatives are well-prepared and can actively participate in shaping the future of the Wikimedia movement.

Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

Strategic Engagement: Open Discussions: Leading up to the upcoming event, the organisers will coordinate efforts to enhance engagement with Wikimedians through a series of open discussions initiated by CIS-A2K. In collaboration with South Asia open community calls, these strategic conversations aim to actively engage community members in shaping the discourse. Alongside these discussions, an orientation call is scheduled for attendees to receive comprehensive instructions and an agenda overview. This preparatory initiative aims to create a vibrant and inclusive environment, laying the groundwork for meaningful discussions and collaborative endeavours.

Additionally, one of the regional members of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee (MCDC) has expressed support for this initiative. Collective Request: This grant proposal is a collective request from the Movement Charter ambassadors representing different regions in India. These ambassadors have engaged in extensive conversations with their respective communities, identified challenges, and actively participated in strategic sessions. They have expressed a hesitation to fully engage in conversations at the Wikimedia Summit due to limited understanding, highlighting the need for a dedicated preparation meeting.

To engage participants before the meeting, we will conduct a needs assessment survey, host pre-meeting sessions, and establish an online discussion forum. During the activity, interactive workshop, expert sessions, simulations, and open floor discussions will provide a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. To follow up with participants, post-meeting survey, resource distribution, an online community platform will be employed.
