台灣撒奇萊雅族是台灣原住民的第 13 族，該族的人數到目前為止仍只有 1059人次，是台灣即為少數的民族，該族的語言也被中華民國（Republic of China）原住民族委員（Council of Indigenous Peoples）列為瀕危語言，語言是隨時隨地都可能滅絕的族群，該族群人口比例懸殊，部落的耆老也隨著時間不斷地衰老甚至死亡，再加上部落年輕人的外流，我們的族群語言並未妥善地被傳承下來，因而導致祖先的語言及文化正隨著時間快速地消失中，身為撒奇萊雅族後代子孫的我們，認為即刻開始保存祖先語言是極為重要的問題。 對我們及台灣來說，撒奇萊雅族群文化及語言的傳承是必須且急迫的，該事件攸關著一個族群文化的生死存亡，是極為嚴重且重要的。 去年我們開始申請該計畫，就是為了能夠透過更多力量，讓這個族群的語言有效地被記錄跟保存，我們期望能持續運作，用時間的累計，將撒奇萊雅族語言被永久的保留在維基百科中。

我們預計2024年7月到12月期間，每月舉辦一次寫作工作坊，透過集結族人與編撰者的力量，在特定的時間，有效地將撒奇萊雅族語言給記錄下來。目前活動並未籌備完成，但一定會在每個月舉辦一場，總共六場的寫作工作坊。
