1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

After the success of the Wikidata training for queers in Nigeria at 2 major cities which received lot of welcome and simplicity from the participants and the further need to stay updated. This project is then design to specifically train more queer participants from other cities and also sustain the momentum from previous participants.

The major change we are trying to bring is to ensure that more queer persons can contribute to Wikimedia projects even more.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

The basic approach is to use this project to create an activity for previously trained queer participants with an online contest, virtual refreshing training, and holding in-person training in 2 fresh cities which are Niger and Ogun state while partnering with LGBTQ Nigeria organizations.

We will travel to Niger and Ogun state to train Nigerian queers on how to contribute to Wikidata and then launch an online contest for queer Nigerian participants to contribute and win prizes. The project is a 3-in-one that will make us visit 2 new cities, create an online contest and also train virtual partipants.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

Wikidata is always relatively easy to contribute to and very important as well. So we will engage the participants with an online contest to contribute to Wikidata, virtual training, and 2 in-person trainings.

The strategy is simply to enhance the appetizer of the participants by creating a contest as that will spur more people to contribute and also visit the two locations in collaboration with a LGBTQ+ Nigeria organization

4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.

The target participants are queer persons, and we have a growing community of them and will be reaching out to more through the partnership with Bisi Alimi Foundation. To ensure the participants continue to contribute, we have a group where we follow up on their activities and also create each month's milestones.
