Please volunteer to help us make better decisions about Project and Event grants! The Grant Advisory Committee (GAC) reviews proposals on a monthly basis and handles 3–10 new grant proposals a month. It is expected that a GAC volunteer devote at least three hours a week to GAC work.

If you are interested in joining the GAC in the coming selection process please sign below. Include a brief statement about your background, how you meet the criteria, and what experience from Wikimedia and/or other related projects you can bring to help this committee.

Candidate: Flixtey

I am a young zealous individual who is enthused about the vision and goals of the Wikimedia Foundation. It is a privilege to be part of this esteemed institution and to play a substantial role in our vision.

I have been a Wikimedian since 2012, I have worked on English Wikipedia, Commons, Wikidata, Wikispecies and Meta. I have a passion for analysing and making sense out of data. I believe this is as a result of my background in Finance. I have an affinity for actively engaging in community activities and voluntary works wherever i find myself, which is why today i put myself forward as a candidate for the GAC. My involvement with the grant making process has been enriched through my organisation and participations on projects and (or) activities that will grow and increase the reach of Wikimedia Projects in my country. I currently manage the Wikimedia Community in Ghana and have managed several projects for the community. I have engaged in activities that have recruited new editors, increased the reach on Wikimedia projects and on gender related projects.

I have an extensive knowledge in grantmaking through my frequent grant activities from both within and out of the Wikispace. I believe in the need to volunteer for a worthy cause hence poised on contributing my quota in ensuring a better grant making process. Flixtey (talk) 18:12, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Candidate: Tanweer Morshed

Statement: I am Tanweer, a Wikipedian since 2009. I have been mostly contributing to Bangla Wikipedia and other Bangla Wikimedia projects. I do also contribute to Wikimedia Commons and the English Wikipedia. I was appointed as a sysop in the Bangla Wikipedia in early 2015. Besides my online contribution, I am active in offline and outreach activities since 2010. I am a founding Executive Committee Member of the chapter Wikimedia Bangladesh and I have experience related to planning and implementing projects and programs. Among offline and outreach activities, I have organized and coordinated photography contest, conferences, seminars and Wiki MeetUps over the years. I have conducted Wikipedia workshops in several regions of Bangladesh in partnership with universities and educational institutions. Recently, I have worked as a member of the Organizing Committee for the 10th anniversary celebration of Bangla Wikipedia. I have experience as a grantee of the WMF. I served as a member of the Programme Team for the Wikimedia Conference 2015. From my experience with the Wikimedia movement for over six years, I believe I can contribute as a member of GAC.
