What is the problem you're trying to solve? edit

A few years ago, the Outreach Wiki was created. One of its pages was of very global interest : the BookShelf (https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Bookshelf_Project). However, the outreach wiki is a bit neglected. In some sections, it does not matter too much for now, but the Bookshelf is losing most of its interest because it has not been regularly updated (check history : https://outreach.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bookshelf&action=history. Less than 10 edits in a year)

As a result... loss of freshness means... loss of usefulness. Means ... no global repository... means less information accessible... and means duplication.

What is your solution? edit

I suggest a collaborative thorough Spring Clean Up of the BookShelf page:

  1. a global call so that available new content be added here (in particular recent content produced by chapters, user groups and thematic groups; leaflets produced during last Wikimania etc. )
  2. perhaps launch a translation campaign for some documents (requires identification of what is likely to be the most valuable resources ?)
  3. removal of all broken content (links to old tools...)
  4. archiving outdated content (requires identification of outdated content. More generally... dating content would be great as it would allow to quickly filter out some resources as being likely to be the most relevant)

Content does not necessarily have to be on the outreach wiki. But at least linking to fresh content sounds like a good idea to me.
