Community Wishlist Survey 2022/Translation/Articles that urgently need to be written
Articles that urgently need to be written
- Problem: So far there is no tool to show fast and easy which articles urgently should to be written.
- Proposed solution: Under discussion ideas for a possible tool have been exchanged. The tool could bring together internationally most-clicked articles (with many Interwikis) that don't exist in your own language. Alternatively also with sorting options in different categories.
- Who would benefit: Everyone that writes articles (I am one of them :D) and wants to help to make Wikipedia more connected and complete
- More comments: Happily at the moment there is this project: "Frauen in Rot" – which is great, but it would be fantastic if one could do the same additionally for other categories, as mentioned, also for internationally known articles

- Oppose: it seems that volunteers could write such a tool already, and our few wishes in the Wishlist are better suited to WMF-only projects. — Bilorv (talk) 20:32, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

- Oppose What "should" be written is entirely subjective. WMF projects are contributed to by volunteers based on their interests and (hopefully) subject matter expertise. So, write about what interests you and what you're knowledgeable about. Silver hr (talk) 19:20, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose This doesn't seem like a good idea. I support the previous comment that this is volunteering. Users translate pages based on their interests, so I consider this proposal incompatible with the rules. --MarieVirtuElle (talk) 02:12, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

- Support value-added to this proposal: languages like Uyghur or ones in Myanmar spoken by communities under pressures of major languages or genocide should be given special support to grow the wikipages in those languages. Gpwitteveen (talk) 21:41, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
