edit- Targeting to less active users will require defining some criteria first and then add a script into the banner. I don't know how to code scripts. @Seddon (WMF): any ideas? —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:12, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- @MarcoAurelio: yeah... less active is a difficult one to do. We can target by number of edits and target by age of account and a combination of the two. Seddon (WMF) (talk) 02:46, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
- Maybe @Aktron could help determine what is "less active". —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:39, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
- Sure. If you can define users that are recently registered (ie. in the last 1 year) and are not editing regurarly (ie. they are newbies, or just interested in Wikipedia), this might be an opportunity for them how to try more sophisticated participation within the project. Use the numbers you have for people corresponding with this definition please :-) Aktron (talk) 10:31, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
Well, I've currently enabled it for 5 views per fortnight for 50% of traffic for both anons and registered. If filtering is still needed some criteria from mw:Manual:Interface/JavaScript#User-specific might be used, but exact numbers are needed. I hope Aktron can come up with some. Also, sorry for the delay despite early request, alas there are no volunteers willing to commit to CN request proceeding. --Base (talk) 16:56, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
- OK Base, can you do it for registered users with less than 200 edits? Those who are not registered will most likely not be willing to get engaged in such a topic and those who have more already know about the contest from other sources. Aktron (talk) 20:24, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
- So, the banner should be visible for users >=200 edits. Base, willing to implement this? I know no JS. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 17:59, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I had no time to deal with it so it ran with just normal diet. --Base (talk) 17:54, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
